In the TV program ”Operation X” broadcasted on Danish TV-2 on Thursday the 5th of February, it was mentioned that it is possible to increase the water uptake in marinated poultry meat, by the help of an additive produced from pork protein. In order to avoid any misunderstanding, the Danish Poultry Meat Association, guarantees, that such an additive has never been used and will never be used in any of the affiliated poultry companies. The Danish poultry slaughterhouses and poultry meat product plants have a more than 40 years of history with export to Muslim countries and sale of halal slaughtered poultry meat to Muslim customers in Denmark and in many parts of the world. “Our trade with Muslim costumers is based on trust, and we would never jeopardize this by using an additive based on pork” says Per Møller chairman of the Danish Poultry Meat Association.
